Co to jest Energy Bill Revolution?

The Energy Bill Revolution jest zjednoczeniem 80 organizacji dobroczynnych, grup środowiskowych walczących o ocieplanie domów. Koordynator akcji Ed Matthew, dyrektor Transform UK stwierdził, że więcej ludzi umiera w domach z zimna niż ginie rocznie na ulicach w wypadkach. Różne źródła podają różne liczby. Niekiedy mówi się nawet o 6 milionach ludzi mających problemy z zakupem energii (10 % społeczeństwa). Wielka Brytania jest na drugim miejscu (po Estonii) co do ilości obywateli mających trudności z płaceniem za energię i gaz. (Zobacz ubóstwo energetyczne)

Akcja The Energy Bill Revolution popierająca docieplanie domów wydaje się sensowna, bo ma doprowadzić do zmniejszenia strat ciepła w domach. Nie uchroni to jednak lokatorów przed corocznymi podwyżkami cen energii a rząd nie robi prawie nic aby to zmienić. Jest realne niebezpieczeństwo, że firmy energetyczne będą chciały i tak wyrównać sobie straty finansowe spowodowane oszczędzaniem energii i podniosą ceny jeszcze bardziej.
